Federal Academy for Security Policy From Government Site Builder to Drupal
When relaunching its website, the Academy decided against GSB and in favour of a relaunch with the open source CMS Drupal, which is considered relatively secure.
The Federal Academy for Security Policy (BAKS) is the federal government's interdepartmental further education institution for executives in the field of security policy. Its mission is to promote a comprehensive, interdisciplinary understanding of security policy and to provide a platform for networking security policy actors.
With the relaunch in 2013, the BAKS migrated from Government Site Builder (GSB) to the open source content management system Drupal. With the new system, the BAKS can benefit from dynamic further developments of the Drupal community. In addition, Drupal offers the possibility to map the complex workflows of the administration and to implement a granular rights management.
Another argument for the use of Drupal, also from a security point of view, was the fact that this system has been used successfully for years by the highest federal authorities in the USA.
